I got upset because my bf rushed me. Am I overreacting?
So my boyfriend told me at 5:50pm that him and his friends are going to have dinner at a place I recommended in about an hour (I assumed 7pm) and asked me if I wanted to come.
I said I would, but I would need to shower first. This would be my first time hanging out with his friends (we just started dating for a bit over a month) so I would want a good impression. So at 6pm I finished shower. He called and asked for ETA to his place.
I told him I just need 10-15 more mins to get ready as I need to dry my hair. And he was like, "you need 10 mins to dry your hair?"
I said "I have long hair without hairdryer it would take way over an hour for it to get dry, 10 mins isn't bad at all"
Then he said, "Well we're leaving at 6:20" but the thing is say I finish at 6:15, it takes 15 mins for me to walk to his place so I wouldn't have enough time. He basically was rushing me, and given I wouldn't have enough time I told him I just won't join tonight instead of keeping everyone waiting. Then he said I was being difficult and I could just go there late and he'd order for me first.
The thing is the dinner place is pretty far from my place and I'd have to take the bus since I don't have a car and would take 25mins to get there. Uber is too expensive for me.
And I don't want my first impression with his friends to be the girlfriend who takes forever to get ready and get to the dinner place 30 mins late! Am I being irrational for getting upset?
