Re-enlisting?

Has anyone or any relatives/spouses decided to re-enlist after a few years of being out? My boyfriend told me earlier today that he’s been thinking about going back and I’m having a ton of mixed emotions about it. I do love him and support him no matter what he does but it’s just taken me by surprise, I guess.

Make sure it is something he really wants. My boyfriend re-enlisted after being out for only 6 months and is seriously regretting his decision.

My dad did. He and my mom got out of the army in the early 90s(91’ to be exact if I remember correctly). My dad reenlisted into the navy reserves in early 2000s( wanna day 2002/2003). He stayed in going active for one deployment(almost two) till he retired in 2016. He went in as enlisted and they sent him to OCS school around 2006 or so.

So Both my husband and I are active duty. I’m getting out in a month and he will be getting out the following year. I’m leaving on good terms and great scores and everything so that if worse comes to worse it’ll be an option to come back on. It wouldn’t be ideal but it’s an option. I’m not sure the reason why yours would want to go back but I understand your worry. It really isn’t the best 😕good luck! Just try to be supportive
