Do you get paid holiday leave while on maternity leave?

My workplace said I will not be considered an active employee when I take my maternity leave, so I will not get paid for holidays. That seems stingey to me. What has your experience been?

Since I will be on maternity leave they will not pay me for any of the holidays while I am gone.

Unpaid leave is unpaid leave. No holidays paid while ‘not actively working’

Typically if you work an hourly wage, vacation time is something that is accrued per pay period. If you have a salaried position where your annual vacation time is part of your contract then you’ll typically still have the same amount in a year you take maternity leave.
