Curfew
Would it be wrong to set/enforce a curfew for our 19 year old daughter? She had a curfew before she turned 18 but now that she’s an adult she thinks she can do whatever she wants. I’ve recently found out that she’s been going out and drinking with her friends at night and it made me really upset. She still lives with us, we pay for school and she’s pretty much dependent on us (which is not a problem, at all!!) however I do think she needs a curfew. So do you think it would be okay? I mean she’s still technically a teenager and she very much acts like one 🤦🏻♀️
**no, my kid does not pay rent. As long as she’s in school, she does not have to pay!! Also we live in the US, 21 is the legal drinking age. It’s okay if she has 1 drink while she’s at home. But I’m not happy with her going out and getting drunk with her friends.
* Thank you for your comments! Since she is living with us, her dad and I have decided to enforce a curfew. Her curfew is 1 am, her friends parents also found out they were drinking and most of them have enforced curfew as well. Her grades have been slipping + underage drinking (to the point of getting drunk)...this decision feels right. If and when she chooses to move out she can stay out for as long as she wants.
