If you become pregnant how would you pay for it?

Just curious.
I haven't had any kids yet, but when I think about it and wonder how will pay for it. My SO has health insurance but I don't, I know when some women become pregnant and they get the result of public clinic they send them to apply for WIC and then they get medical and that's how they pay for the labor.

I live in canada where medical if free. As for everything else like food, clothing, rent/mortgage etc I don't think you should be having children if you can't afford to take care of them.

Luckily for me I have military insurance and my bf has insurance as well so we are covered medically.

I really am so glad we have the NHS. I have never had to worry financially about getting my health checked. Any problems and I can just get an appointment to see a doc and get sorted! Although I am worried about this government privatising everything. :(

My husband and I will be paying out of pocket for a midwife, who will do all of my prenatal care and deliver our baby. Some types of insurance can cover the cost of this but mine does not. Which is fine by me. I'd pay a thousand times to have a midwife over an ob.
