can you have an abcess if you’re a virgin?

hey! i’m 20, and a virgin, but i have a painful ball thing under the skin of my vulva. i’m pretty sure it’s a bartholin cyst, but again i’m a virgin. i’m not really sure what to do about this bc i really don’t want a doctor to examine me bc i don’t feel comfortable with this particular area 😅 again, i’m not 100% sure if it is a bartholin cyst, but it is in that general area. i guess my question is can you have one if you are a virgin?
