Should I just mind my own business?
Listen. My friend’s husband got diagnosed with Covid this weekend. My friend has been really upset because he got it from a sick co-worker, who came to work even knowing they had a very high fever. She has been depressed about quarantining, which I completely get. She’s been handling it completely differently than I would, but I keep my mouth shut. She has her husband acting as the primary caregiver for the children. Didn’t even attempt to isolate him. I told her to let me know if she needed anything and I would be happy to drop it off. I told her if she wanted to order groceries, I would pick them up for her and leave them at her doorstep.
Today she left her house! She doesn’t understand that doing grocery pick up or even going through the Starbucks line could spread the virus to someone who could really be harmed by it. She hasn’t been tested and could easily have contracted it and be asymptomatic.
I don’t live in fear of the virus, but I know I would likely survive it. I wear a mask and sanitize, but my life is pretty normal. If someone in my house had a positive diagnosis for Covid, I would absolutely not leave my house for at least 14 days and until everyone was healthy and cleared. I feel like it’s super irresponsible to be out running around, but I also don’t think it’s my place to say anything. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
