Extreme tantrums

Soo my toddler has had tantrums before where he flops and cries for not getting his way. But the last two nights in a row it’s EXTREME.. Starting about 6pm he’s crying over nothing, we get him in the tub ASAP but it’s too late. He’s literally infuriated and screaming to the point where we can barely get a diaper and sleep sack on him! He’s literally shaking he’s so angry. I’m assuming he’s overtired but I’m not understanding why? It’s been the same routine for months, same day care. He sleeps about an hour there which is not ideal but that’s all he does at day care. Is this happening to anyone else?? I don’t even know how to help him when he’s like this, all we can do is get him to bed..

Feeling super worried because next week is parent teacher and I’ll be working late. There’s no way my husband can get him to bed on his own if he’s like this.
