Nuvaring and periods

Hi! I need some perspective. I’m on birth control for the first time in my life and after doing all the research, I decided on the nuvaring. The birth control was recommended by my gynecologist because I have uterine fibroids and the fibroids are making me more anemic than usual. She also suggested that I skip a few periods to get my blood count back up too. Now that I’ve been on the nuvaring for about 2 months, I’m confused on how my period works. My period was always regular in that it came consistently on or around the same time and consistently lasted about 5 days. On nuvaring, I’m having breakthrough bleeding almost everyday and if it’s not that, then it’s vaginal discharge or spotting. Should I be concerned or has this happened to anyone else? Any helpful advice would be very much appreciated.
