Pissed off at mil

My mil took my 8 year old for a sleepover to her house and she ignored my text message and my phone call. I could barely reach my child to ask if she got there safely. What the fuck? I am pissed off. The bare minimum she could have done is to call back or text or let me know my child is safe. Lesson learned: no more sleepover!

(I might be over reacting or be a helicopter parent but she is my kid and if I call I expect a prompt respond since she is my child not hers)

Edit: i don’t trust my mil she talks shit about me and my mother to others. There was a storm last night and she lives 45 minutes from me. So you know even if it’s my mother who has my kid and fails to replay my text and calls for over an hour I would be pissed. She is my kid and I have to right to know where she was taken or when she will arrive home. It’s common sense to let the parents know once they arrived safely at home
