Can an ovulation test be used as a pregnancy test?

My average cycle is 38 days, my period is now 6 days late. I was on vacation the past week when i noticed i haven’t gotten my period yet, 4 days ago i put on a pad thinking my period came when i saw light brown mixture of cervical mucus in my undies.. never got any other signs besides egg white cerv mucus, lower back pain and sore boobs. I finally made it home today but i dont have a preg test on hand at the moment but i did have a ovulation test i heard can also tell if you a pregnant, is that true?

You may get a light line if you’re pregnant but I wouldn’t trust it. Ovulation tests detect LH not hcg.

Yes. When I was pregnant I took a few opk tests just to see what they would look like and the they all came out dark positive like the pic of yours. Def get a pregnancy test soon!

Ovulation tests detect LH surges which can happen at any point in your cycle, including before a period. I would get a pregnancy test as soon as you can and discard the ovulation test.

I had weird bleeding like an early period which ended up being heavy implantation bleeding. Anyway, nine or ten days later I started ovulation tests thinking I was in a new cycle, I used to o cd12 or so. On 9 or so it was blazing positive and I thought no way am I ovulating this early. I did Hcg test and was pregnant. So in my experience yes it can clue you off to pregnancy but I wouldn’t trust it alone. Just if you get a very positive one at a point you don’t think you should, then definitely do pregnancy test. And also my experience...everyone on here that says implantation bleeding is only a light spot and not red or heavy, it actually can be. I used tampons three days it was so bad not knowing it was that.

After my MC I took OPKs daily and I stopped getting a blazing positive OPK when the hcg was at 240. 
So in my experience your hcg would have to be fairly high - like also a blazing positive HCG to get that result on an OPK
