New car seat for baby or our oldest?

My son is in a 3 n 1 Evenflo triumph car seat right now and it can hold babies rear facing from 5lbs-22lbs 
My husband wants to get our son a bigger kid car seat instead of buying another one like his. We’re having a girl and his car seat is black but the accessories are blue

I agree with your husband, it’s more practical to do it that way. Girls can use black and blue car seats, it’s just a car seat and they’re just colors!

We also went with the bigger one for our oldest as we’ll get more use out of it for years to come. Ours is black and grey so gender neutral but even if it wasn’t we would have done the same thing.

Most bigger kid car seats can still rear face just doesn’t have the baby bucket seat option. You will definitely save money getting one for your older son and there’s no reason to not put a girl in a blue car seat.

I would buy a bigger seat that still rear faces. 25lbs is so small to rearface, especially since he’s probably young and still has a underdeveloped skeleton
