husband’s pressuring me to fly during COVID with newborn... opinions?

So, my husband wants us to fly to Arizona from NYC to his parents with our 2 months old. I’m a nervous flyer to begin with so I can’t even imagine flying with a 2 month old. I’m breastfeeding too so it’s not like I can take anything either. It’s also Covid and flu season is starting soon. My baby is only 2 months so he doesn’t rly have an immune system yet. The whole thing doesn’t seem fair to me. Am I being unreasonable?

No you’re not. My daughter got the flu at 4 months old and had to be hospitalized, the flu also lowers your immune system so you’re then more likely to catch other viruses. No way would I be flying right now, especially not with a newborn.

I’d have him join in next pediatrician appointment and ask the doctor. That way he can hear directly from the doctor how unsafe it is. My pediatrician won’t even let my nephew and and nieces meet my baby yet. He said let’s refocus at 3 month mark and see what’s happening with flu and COVID season. He said he most likely will still say not yet. So, if my baby can’t even meet 3 young children, I don’t see how a flight would be smart.

Don't do it! My baby is 4 months old and my bf wanted me to fly to Puerto Rico and I said nope. He's visting his 2 other kids there. I would love to go but I can't with a baby. If my baby got the virus then we'll all get it and it won't be pretty. Dont put your baby at risk. If his parents want to see the baby then they have to see you. Not to mention new York is a huge hot spot for the coronavirus

For what it’s worth, I’m planning on flying with my son for thanksgiving. He’ll be 4 weeks old by then. I’ve heard quite a few opinions that flying during Covid is dangerous. However, after talking with my doctor and doing some research I believe it’s not as bad as people are making it out to be. There’s even a study that was done by Harvard that proved that flying is safer (as far as avoiding Covid) than going to the grocery store. I wouldn’t go! I didn’t take my son to Germany to see my parents until he was 8 months old and this was pre-covid. I would not fly right now child or no-child. Cases are going up right now!
