Is this fucked up or are we dramatic?

If you know your friend has been sober for 3 years, and you give him a drink and don't tell him there's alcohol in it as a "joke". They know he as a 1 year old and they know staying sober is super important to him. Everyone in this situation is between the ages of 26-30. For some reason my husband's friends thought that would be funny and nwo my husband is wanting to check into rehab because he's afraid of relapse. His friends are saying we are both being over dramatic. Are we?
