Leaving emotional abuser

I have been in an emotionally abusive relationship for 5 years that started when I was 17 and he was 36. I’m finally getting out of it, but one of the reasons it was so toxic was that it was a secret relationship... my family, friends, no one knew.

So I’m telling my parents on Friday. Anyone who is a parent, I was wondering how you might respond to hearing about this? It’s a pretty messed up story and I just want them to support me and not be too angry.
