Always the forgotten/invisible friend...

This isn’t really a rant, more like a “I’m sad...always feeling forgotten” post. I’m an introvert and definitely not the life of any party, but I’m also very talkative and social with the small number of people I am close too—if that makes any sense. I’m the only mom in my small circle of friends. One of my friends is pregnant so I threw her a small baby shower at my house. She was super happy with it all, but when she posted about it on social media she claimed that I threw the shower along with my other two friends. The two other friends took credit too, even though they didn’t do much at all. I did all the work—spent all the money.

I’ve always had a connection to the pregnant friend just because we’ve bonded over motherhood stuff, etc. We talk a lot and I always thought we had a deeper connection....she’s sort of like a little sister to me. She threw herself a virtual baby shower for her family out of state and I was the only friend who showed up out of our group—little things like that.

Anyway, my birthday was this week....yay for getting older. Haha....but it was a hard birthday. I’m nearing the advanced maternal age mark and we’ve been TTC for almost a year again. It’s been difficult. My pregnant friend is the only one who truly understands my struggles.

She totally forgot my birthday—-which isn’t a big deal. I honestly don’t care much. But I’m also big on birthdays—I always do something small for fam/friends on their days. (Even her).

What hurt my feelings is that it’s another friend in our groups bday right after mine and she immediately texted a group message saying happy birthday to our friend. I know I know, I feel like a child. I’m embarrassed feeling hurt, but yeah—-I think it’s just an added emotion to everything else I’ve been going through this year.
