Covid help

Hey guys question so my husband was exposed to his mom who turned out to be positive 8 days ago, he is now starting with some symptoms like fever and back aches. So technically he has about 6 days left of quarantine, will that change is he gets tested tomorrow and has a positive on Tuesday ? Will his quarantine have to be longer ? Sorry it’s a Sunday and my doctors office is closed.
