Plan C

So I wanted to share my experience with you all about the abortion pill. I called it the plan C pill because my experience was similar to starting my period.

How I got here : had sex without checking the app, realized I was in my ovulation window and took a plan b within hours of having sex. Instructions said my period may be up to a week late so I waited, and waited. Eight days still no period, was still feeling hopeful, ten days late- I started to panic. Day 12, my boyfriend and I went hunting for the pills.

I didn't see a doctor- I live in a country where I could get it without a prescription but I don't advise that. I read the instructions and followed them mostly but having medical advice is for sure the route to take. Anyway, here's a rundown.

Day 1: took first pill around 4pm. Instructions said take other pills 24-48 hrs after, but I read other people doing it 30 minutes after, so I decided to do 12-14 hours after. Felt fine the whole night.

Day 2: woke up to cramps at 6:30am. Not awful or unbearable just painful as usual on first/second day of period. Took other two pills at 7:30am. I inserted them vaginally and used a drop of water to help them dissolve quicker. To insert them I used a tampon and stuck one at a time to the tip. Oh and something funny, one of the pills fell down the drain as I was trying to balance it on the end of the tampon. All I could do was laugh. (luckily because I was less than 7 weeks pregnant I only needed to take two, according to the instructions). Nothing happened for a while, around 5:30 I panicked that I'd done something wrong and took the third pill orally just in case. Bleeding and cramping started around 7:30. The cramps weren't bad, i Just remember two sharp pains that reminded me of contractions but all other cramps were manageable. The blood only came when I used the bathroom.

Day 3: went to work. Wore à pad. Felt super dizzy and had bouts of nausea so just stayed in my office mostly. Very little blood, only when I wiped. Cramps manageable.

Day 4: same as above.

Day 5: same as above but once I sneezed and blood came out. Also once when urinating after work, a lot of blood came, not a lot but more than the other days. I felt like this was most of it and possibly the worst of it and I was right.

Day 6: feeling normal, energy back, cramps gone, no dizziness, no blood.

Day 7-8: same as above. Very little blood, didn't need a pad but wore one just in case.

Day 8: today (nov 23). Feeling great

*I think my experience was the way it was because I was only about 4-5 weeks pregnant. This is in no way medical advice, this is just my own personal experience. I would say the quicker you take the pills, the less stuff there is to get "rid of" and the less traumatizing it'll be the you.

**I learned that plan B isn't effective if you're in your ovulation window, so not really sure why we take it as that's the most critical time we'd need it to work. Right?

Hope this was helpful
