Participating in religious practices when not religious
Something I have seen happen a lot around me in recent years is new parents choosing to christen their child when they do not practice religion whatsoever. They make this pledge to the church in front of their families, and then once the baby is christened they never step foot in a church again.
Same thing for marriage.
What are your feelings on this? Would you do it? If so, why? Why do you think others do this?
Do you think it can be disrespectful to people who are true practising members of that faith?
