What do you think about companies that enforce a No Cell Phones rule?
The new company I work for has a no cell phone rule. It is a desk job where we talk to patients over the phone so we don’t interact with anyone in person. Because of a possible HIPAA breach that’s why we aren’t allowed to use our phones, which I understand.
Many of my coworkers have stated that they need to have access to their phones because they have kids and in case of emergency they need to be able to reach them. In that case, they were told to contact the supervisor in order to come up with a plan.
I don’t have kids but I totally get where they are coming from. My question is, would you work for a company that enforced a no cell phone policy and are very strict with it, and is it a good rule?
