Xmas dinner

Ugh so in my province that I live in we are under a lock down. We are not allowed to have any gatherings whatsoever for the next 4 weeks. Well my MIL has planned Xmas dinner for Xmas eve, I told my husband that with the restrictions in place I think she should either change the date or we just don’t go. If you are caught disobeying the rules you get fined $1000. I don’t have that kind of money to risk plus my daughter is 18months and I do not want her to get sick. My MIL also works in retail at a busy grocery store so she’s coming in contact with people all the time. My husband asked her to switch the date to when restrictions are lifted and she said no 😳. Now I feel like the grinch because I want to follow the rules and keep my family safe. We have never had a falling out or anything and now I’m afraid she’s not going to like me anymore. I don’t think it’s fair that I’m feeling like the bad guy when I’m just filling the law.
