Baby hiccups??

Question

Just wondering what baby hiccups feel like in utero. I wonder if that is what I am feeling and if it’s normal. I am experiencing rhythmic pulses/thumps from time to time that do eventually stop but happen in a series. I just read an article that said if they are happening daily after 28 weeks it could be a sign of a problem and now I am freaked out. I am 31 + 5, FTM. Any advice is helpful!

Hiccups are a normal and very healthy part of development! Babies in utero may get hiccups as a result of practice breathing, which is something that they are doing more and more towards the end of your pregnancy. Studies show that daily fetal hiccuping is actually a protective factor against stillbirth and indicates good health. The study that says fetal hiccups may indicate cord compression was done on lamb fetuses and may or may not be applicable to us and our babies. Bring it up with your doctor next time you see them; they’ll have better insight on which resources to trust! 
My baby gets hiccups 2-3 times a day and has for several weeks, if that’s of any reassurance :)

They are not a problem they are practicing their breathing..it just feels like when u feel hiccups just imagine them in your stomach it’s like a constant pulse.

They feel exactly like they would if you had the hiccups. Only difference is it’s your belly moving and your baby having them. They are normal. 
My son will wake me up with them from time to time. Then once they stop I try and go back to sleep because this happens at night or before the sun comes up.
I definitely know them when he has them and I feel him adjusting himself to get comfortable as they taper off and go away. It’s a weird feeling for the first time or two but then it becomes a normal expectation to a degree. I’m 31 weeks and 6days as of tomorrow

I get those at least once or twice a day now and it’s totally normal I believe as they’re now swallowing more amniotic fluid so they will get hiccups often.

i feel it as a constant tapping every 3-5 seconds down by my pelvic bone (depending on where you feel them it can determine your baby’s position). theyre notmal and due to the baby’s immature diaphragm.

Feels kind of like a heartbeat. My baby is super low, so I usually feel them in my butt now.  🤦‍♀️

I’ve read that hiccups are good and a result of healthy lung development! It’s when they go on for an extended period of time, I believe longer than 10 minutes consistently that you should contact your doctor.
