Embarrassed of my car

Hi ladies I just started dating this guy (3 months) his birthday is coming up and I wanted to take him to go eat the thing is my breaks are horrible.. I’ve gotten them done two months ago and they’re still horrible. This has been a problem with my car for years that I’ve just dealt with it. No matter where I’ve took it, my breaks start sounding horrible 3 weeks in..

I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to ask him to take us when it’s for HIS birthday but my breaks are so embarrassing.. I don’t know what to do...
