Will my milk dry up?

I had my baby at 35 weeks. I’ve been pumping everyday and it’s being fed to her through a tube in the nicu. So many people tell me that since she was born early and hasn’t latched yet that my milk will most likely dry up... has this happened to you?

No.  My son was born at 33+4 and I pumped endlessly for him.  I got him latched (make sure they let you try!  They kept telling me he would probably choke and discouraging me but he did just fine!  Even if they don’t latch, nuzzling and licking around the nipple will help your supply) and he’s 17 months and still breastfed now.  Lots of mamas exclusively pump beyond a year even when their LO never latched.  Don’t let anyone bring you down!  Exclusive pumping is hard but not impossible xx

My son was born at 35 weeks, I started pumping right away and they also fed that to him through his NG tube. They let me breastfeed him directly when he was 4 days old and he took to it right away! I started out alternating between bottle feeding first and then letting him latch for “dessert” as they called it and then the next feed we would latch first and then top off with a bottle of expressed milk. After a couple days of that we just started nursing exclusively. He’s almost 8 months old and we are still going strong!

Not true. Keep pumping mama!!! A lot of moms exclusively pump! I have a friend that is in month 15! It also doesn’t mean you won’t be able to breastfeed. Keep pumping. ❤️❤️

My son was born at 36w and had to be on oxygen so they wouldn’t let me breastfeed until he was 3 days old. I kept pumping. Even then when he was allowed to try breastfeeding, he would latch but would fall asleep pretty quickly so I continued to pump and he got my milk (and some donor milk!) through his NG tube. He’s now 6w and breastfeeding like a champ! Babies are very resilient! Keep up the great work, mama! You got this!

I mean it could happen but I don't think that would happen considering you are pumping assuming when you need to
Now if you weren't doing anything then yeah it would dry up now I would see that happening

My son was born at 38 weeks and had a heart defect and went straight to the nicu. I couldn’t breast feed him until he was 2.5 wks old and he latched well for a couple days but I was in so much pain. He had a lip tie we didn’t find out about until he was 1 yrs old. 
I exclusively pumped for 14 months and had a small freezer stash. As long as you pump as much as a baby would nurse you should be fine. Stay hydrated and try not to stress out because it can hurt your supply. It hurt mine in the beginning. I ate a huge bowl of oatmeal every day and ate 3 meals and 3 snack at least lol. You can do it!
