Planned Parenthood Shooter

Unfortunately this event happened recently in Colorado. I had an argument with a friend over the shooter himself, because I had said, "it's ironic that these so-called pro-lifers get so wrapped up in their beliefs that they would rather kill adult people than allow people to have the choice to not have an embryo".  He became really angry and said, "No, it's just that he doesn't believe in anything of a higher power that he goes out and kills people".  How do you respond to this sort of statement?!
