Finding a tech job while pregnant

crocodile mom

I got hit by a massive layoff at my work, then got covid, then pregnant. So I've had a few months off work.

I'm having problems is getting a new job while pregnant. I'm a technical program manager, focused on digital research and development. It's a very male-dominated field. If a man was expecting a child, it would not impact if they hired him. But as a woman no one wants to hire someone who will take any maternity leave... And I keep getting comments about "good moms staying home".

While I respect FTMs (I was raised by an amazing one) I really want to get back to working. We are comfortable on my fiance's income, but my career is really important to me.

I've tried hiding that I'm pregnant, but my ethics won't allow me to lie directly. I've been asked in interviews if I'm planning on having children soon. And one interviewer actually commented on my baby bump. Sure they're not allowed to, but they do. Because this is tech, they also snoop in your social media, and I am afraid they can tell I'm pregnant.

What should I do? I'm so tired of interviewing and being rejected. Do I have to wait until after the baby's born to get a job?
