Diaper dilema
My son is 5 months old. He’s a chunky baby weighing in at 20lbs. He also poops at least once a day sometimes up to three times and 9 times out of 10 they’re blow outs. I’ve tried pampers swaddlers, baby dry, cruisers, Huggies, target up and up, and luvs. The pampers have the best fit but have never contained his blowouts. So far the best at containing some blow outs have been Huggies. The issue is that he also gets a nasty rash with these and so far since I’ve been using honest diapers the rash has disappeared. However the honest diapers have a weird fit and if the poop doesn’t come out the back it comes out the sides. I started with size 4 which is too tight on his waist and a little snug around the legs so I went up to size 5 but the waist is still not fitting as well and seems to fit well around the legs but not secure enough to contain poop. I am at a loss and my husband told me I might have to just choose my battle. I’m tired of washing poopy clothes everyday but I also wouldn’t let him be with the rash. Has anyone had any success with other brands of diapers that fit comfortably for chubby babies, are hypoallergenic and good at containing blowouts?
