Is anyone taking tenofovir viread for hepatitis B?

Hi,
I have chronic hepatitis B virus, I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I've been recommended to take tenofovir but I can't seem to find any other pregnant women (or previously pregnant women) who have taken this drug other than in trials. Has anyone taken this drug and can share their experience with me?

I haven’t taken the drug, but I worked in a pharmacy for many years that specifically treated infectious diseases. Tenofovir is regularly prescribed to pregnant people who have either Hepatitis B or HIV to prevent mother to child transmission. It is a highly effective medication with many years of studies. I started working in this field in 2009, and it was already a standard therapy used for this purpose at that time. Starting it early in pregnancy is best, and combined with having your baby vaccinated upon birth gives them an excellent chance of not contracting hepatitis B. If it were me, I would absolutely take it. The side effects to you will be minimal and it will help to protect your baby.
