HSG pain?

Hi everyone, have an HSG scheduled for Thursday. How painful was yours? They told me to take an ibuprofen or advil before my appointment which makes me a little worried. Thanks and baby dust!

My tubes were clear, and it was a very uncomfortable 10 min. I clenched my shirt and breathed through it. I took ibuprofen before

The worst part was the speculum. I have a shy cervix and it took a while for her to get the catheter placed.  The balloon felt like a bad period cramp for maybe 30 seconds and it was done.

Honestly it wasn’t bad at all. Kinda like a pap but the after cramps for about 36 hours were pretty awful for me. My tubes were clear so that’s why they thought I didn’t have much pain. Goodluck❤️❤️

My experience wasn’t to made I only had pain on the right side which was where my blockage was located. The pain didn’t last long at all.

For me jt was terrible. I needed a second one and had to get valum to even get in the room. But I had blockage. Good news is it was very short lived and most people don’t have as severe a reaction as I did

For me there was just a zing of pain when she blew up the balloon to insert the dye. Then some cramping as the dye went through my tubes. It was all over very quickly though. I’ve had a lot worse pain with just normal period cramps.

Not painful, just a little weird and crampy. I did take ibuprofen in advance and my tubes were clear.

My tubes were clear. I was fine up until they put the catheter in. It was uncomfortable. When the dye runs through it was like an intense cramp for 10 seconds. Afterwards I had a tiny bit of spotting and that was is. A few hours later a bit of dull cramping, I took Panadol and was fine. Good luck hun x

Definitely take the ibuprofen before. I did and had zero pain, it literally felt like a pap smear!

I had about 2-3 minutes of really bad pain while they were doing it and I had no blockage. Definitely way more painful than any pap I’ve ever had but worth it to know my tubes were open. I took 2 Advil beforehand and had minimal cramping afterward so all in all not too bad.
