Clingy baby

My almost 10 month old is getting so clingy and only for me. If I hand him to his dad he immediately starts whining and crying and reaching for me. He doesn't want put down for individual play, even if I sit down with him (he will just crawl over and get in my lap). He just wants held and not for snuggles either. He's just wild, constantly grabbing, climbing me, biting, pinching, etc. He never sits still 😂 Its starting to get hard to get anything done around the house again. My back can't take wearing him to do chores, he's over 20lbs.

Funny thing is, he does fine when I'm at work. My MIL watches him and he adores her.

As much as I love having him close all the time, is this just a phase?
