How to decide between 2 or 3 kids?

I am currently pregnant with my second. I have a girl and I'm expecting a boy. We have been ton on the decision to have 2 or 3 kids. And it's becoming more a discussion because I'm scheduled for my repeat c section, and my dr asked if I wanted my tubes tied. Obviously I don't have to decide then and there, but it would work out better. 
We always wanted 3 kids. However, we realize now that maybe 2 is just the right number due to time. I'm currently in school, I had my daughter a year ago when I was about a year into my nursing program. And I will be due with my son 8 months before I graduate. When I think of my future and career, I don't see myself having to struggle with maternity leave and waddling around the unit as nurse haha. 
My brain says 2 is perfect. But my heart says 3. I love the idea of having 3 kids, seeing that we both have 2 other siblings. We literally are torn. How do we decide between what sounds smart, and what our heart wants? 
It just sounds so much fun having 3 kids. But my body hurts so much being pregnant 😩. 
How did you decide? 
In the end, it's gonna be what we feel is right, but how did you all decide??

Just go with the flow. Thats what Im doing. Enjoy baby #2. See how it goes being a mom of two. The. You guys can decided later on. No need to stress yourself. Enjoy this pregnancy!

Honestly, my friend has 3 kids and got her tubes burned and still regrets it because she doesn’t have the option anymore. Not saying you two are the same by any means. But you seem very on the fence about it and May end up regretting it later on down the road. It’s a hard decision to make when you are pregnant. People keep asking me if I am going to have a 3rd or be done after this one. All I can think is let me get through this birth and newborn stage first!! 🤣 right now I’m achy and think I won’t want this again, but when my baby isn’t a little baby I know I will miss it and probably want another.

I know it seems like the perfect time to get your tubes tied while having a c-section but... In other ways it's the worst timing possible. Who wants to make the decision about another baby right at the end of a long pregnancy? Doctors always talk to mothers about this when they are going to have a C-section because of the convenience. But we really are in the right State of Mind mentally or emotionally. Kind of like when people get out of a horrible breakup and state to their friends that they are done with dating and relationships and intend to remain single after this. 
I feel like the best candidates for getting your tubes tied during a C-section are people where they got pregnant again they might die, or if the number of children they have is the only amount they ever discussed wanting and I can't bear the thought of more than that. But in your case, even tired and exhausted from pregnancy you are still having second thoughts. I think your best option is to not make this decision now. You don't know how you're going to feel two or more years from now. You can decide later to get your tubes tied, or for your husband to get it taken care of from his side, but you can't change your mind about that third child if you do this now

We’re currently trying for a third after being absolutely sure we were done at two, scheduling a vasectomy, etc. we then talked about it for a while and realized that if we fast forward the tape to 20 years from now, we might regret NOT having a third, but we wouldn’t regret having one. ☺️

I’m definitely not having anymore with the pregnancy experience I am having now with my second one. The next one would only be worst and also money wise I think my family can securely deal with adding this with adding a third we will definitely be living paycheck to paycheck lol

Idk how you decide but my husband and I always talked about 3. We had our first and in the first 6 months knew the right number for us was 2. 
Our first will be 3 when #2 arrives and we still haven’t budged from having just 2. So that’s what it will be.

Don’t ask me because I’m knee deep in the newborn stage and also have a toddler. It’s chaotic and at some points miserable. I’m exhausted. I love my kids, but I can’t imagine 3 right now. 😅

Keep your tubes so you simply have the option - decide later.  Best to have the option.  I had 2 and decided several years later to have 2 more - because they grow up so fast!  For me - 2 sets of similar age is fun but definitely didn’t know that after the 2nd one!

We haven’t decided yet lol. We were 100% sure we only wanted 2 until the day after #2 was born and we were both like “should we do this again?” That baby is about to turn 2 years old and both of us go back and forth about whether we want a 3rd. Current plan is to see how we feel in a couple years because we want a large age gap if there is a third.

We are in a similar boat. I always thought I wanted two and that’s it. Had my son last May and my daughter is 4 - and all I can think about is having one more.
We go back and forth and can’t decide 🤷‍♀️
