Hormones Got The Best of Ya?!?

My neighbor (whom I thought we were friends), no longer waves to us, let’s her daughter out to play with my kids and I was generally curious what was up. They had coronavirus so I thought it was just to keep a distance. I even put a package on her front doorstep for her older daughter’s birthday because they were in quarantine and couldn’t celebrate. Text below show that interaction.

I made the same comment about the fence to our mutual neighbor friend. Then discovered she deleted both hubby and me from Facebook. Deleted the “thank you” post of her daughter and gifts. I left it alone and didn’t reach out... because, well, she’s got a two-sided personality and seems to love one thing, then hate it the next moment.

Curiosity got the best of me, so I asked a mutual friend if she’s heard from her. She said “yes” and we left it at that.

Today, I get these texts, plus a phone call saying to mind my own business, and she even started screaming at me while getting my mail. Her oldest daughter had on booty shorts, and my husband said “yeah, I’d never let my daughter dress like that!” It was a private conversation between us, not the neighborhood, and I regret even saying anything about it DIRECTLY to her.

I never should’ve mentioned it, but I did ONCE when we were out for a friendly coffee. To top it off, she’s screaming out her front door about my husband who doesn’t have a clue. I ignored her and walked back into my house.... but ignoring her definitely made her more mad. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I plan to “keep her name outta my mouth” and that’s why I’m writing this post here rather then talking to anyone. But I know she will not be doing the same. 🙄 We’re not the type of family to sit inside all day. But sheeesh, I don’t know if I can let my kids play outside without her coming out and flipping out on me again. I’m still confused about what was said to make her so angry.

Would you continue on like nothing happened, and ignore her is she came out? Would you apologize, even if it’s so minor?
