Am I pregnant?

I am having a big pregnancy scare 😩 I have a 10 month old baby so it’s a little too early to get pregnant again. So I have been on birth control for maybe 8 months, and my period has never been late. Today makes it 6 days that I’m late and I see no signs of my period coming. My last period date was on March 28 and the last time I had sex was April 1st. Is it possible to be pregnant? Or could it possibly be the birth control, even though my period has always been on time. Should I take a pregnancy test?
