Would you take your child from daycare?

Question

I'm not sure I read a parenting book I can later reference it said that from 3-5 it's normal for children to want to look at private parts as kids looking at their own body touching themselves they might ask to see other kids or try to touch when looking but those acts should be discouraged. No touching any one else.
I found out there is a boy at the daycare that has started this when the teachers aren't looking will pull down  pants or try to tickle kids there when they are playing 
Like hide and seek or hiding together with that kid starts trying to tickle private area 
My concerns are that since this happened when the teachers aren't looking they won't believe it because they haven't seen it. 
I'm not sure what's going on because its all female staff besides one male teacher and the students are 3-5 
So I understand child curiosity and that they want to know what those areas are but I want to make sure the kids are safe 
My child says doesn't want to go back at all looks afraid told me what happened 
But I don't understand it's a good school I know the teachers 
Would it be okay send kid back just ask for more supervision let them know what happened?

I wouldn’t send my kid who’s scared of that place back. The child touching everyone should be removed but I wouldn’t make my kid go back there

You should really be talking to the daycare staff. You might not need to pull your child right away but rather have a talk about how you would like them to behave and how they need to tell their teachers when someone is not behaving appropriately towards themselves or other children. I worked daycare for 4 years and this is why I threw such a hissy fit when I started at a new one where teachers had allowed two children to kiss each other and cuddle under blankets since their respective parents didn’t care. OTHER PARENTS CARE! Yes it’s natural for children to be curious and explore but they should do so at home under their parent’s supervision not at school where other children could get involved. If the office staff and teachers aren’t willing to address the issue then yes, remove your child from that school. But definitely bring this up with the office and your child’s teachers.

My son is 3 and obsessed with his penis. He would never ever tickle someone else's privates because we've made it clear its not ok to touch others privates. That would make me very uncomfortable.

Also, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad school or they are bad teachers. They may not even be aware of what is going on. As a former teacher I can tell you, no matter how good of a teacher you are, it is impossible to be aware of everything all the time. You are in charge of so many kids and there is always someone being sneaky. But once the teachers and staff are made aware, a good teacher/school would take it seriously, handle it, and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Also they need to make sure the parents of that child are aware of what that child is doing and that it won’t be tolerated.

You should speak to the staff as they likely are unaware of this. They in turn can speak to the parents of that child - the other parents may not have even thought to bring up how it’s not okay to touch others there and maybe even personal space. The daycare teachers also can address all the kids and the importance of keeping hands to themselves. If after speaking to them and the other parents about this and nothing changed, then I would consider pulling my child out

I worked at a daycare and had the 3-5 year olds. I had 1 boy i had to keep a close eye on because if he knew girls diapers were being changed he'd try to sneak to the end of the table and look. Every time I yelled at him. I actually got wrote up by my boss because I yelled at him. I said how would you feel if that was your kid and she said I should politely told him get back in line... in a soft calm voice
I'm sure the teachers know to keep a close eye on the boy. If not they need to be aware of it so they can avoid things like that.

You need to report this to the teachers/staff immediately. Like, right now. Not just for the safety of the other kids in the daycare, but also for the boy who is touching. It’s concerning that he’s doing this because those are behaviors that can be indicative of a child who is being touched inappropriately elsewhere. If the teachers aren’t aware, they can’t change anything. There’s no reason to pull your child out when nothing has been reported because nothing can be done to correct the situation. Don’t assume that teachers know everything, we don’t. Also don’t assume that teachers aren’t going o trust children and do what’s best for them. 
Like I said, call and report this now.

Have you spoken with the staff? They really need to know. That’s not ok no matter the age. They are old enough to be taught that they shouldn’t do that. The kid’s parent also needs to know. I would not send my child back. Especially if my child was fearful. You definitely need to speak with the staff. I would even speak with whoever is in charge.

I wouldn’t change daycare right away, unless there are other reasons for which your kid doesn’t want to go or you both feel uncomfortable. I would definitely bring it up to the teacher’s and the school’s administration attention. They need to be aware of what’s happening. Does your school has any cameras? Had there be any other complaint besides yours? If nothing is done, then I would take that as a bad sign. 
But if it makes your more comfortable moving your child from the get go, go ahead. Just make sure you do bring up the issue before you leave. If anything else for the sake of other children.
