Bleeding with IUD?

Anyone else get the paraguard and bleed only slightly the month after they got it placed? I'm supposed to get my period in three days, and got the IUD placed on the second day of my last period (my first period after having my baby 10 weeks ago) and I've been having unprotected sex since a week after I had it placed. But I have had slightly bloody discharge since then, like my discharge is just slightly pink every once in a while. Is this normal? Was I safe to have unprotected sex a week after I got it placed?
