Mask during csection!?
Without getting into a Covid debate- I would love to know if you all who are having csections, have been told you have to wear a mask during it?
Last week when I asked they said my husband and staff would have to wear masks. But during my csection I wouldn’t have to since I’m having my Covid test the week prior. But today at my pre registration they said it’s mandatory for me to wear a mask DURINg my surgery. I’m not against masks. But I use to work in an OR. So I told the lady “why do I need to wear a mask in a sterile room, after taking a Covid test and when all of the staff plus my husband will be masked?” She couldn’t give me an answer. I also mentioned that that’ll probably not happen because I have bad reactions to spinals and always throw up. (This is my fourth baby but third csection). I also have really bad anxiety and am claustrophobic. And while I wear a mask out in public, it’s still really difficult for me and I’ve had issues breathing. I cannot even imagine during a csection! So I told her I cannot possibly see how this will be possible for me. She made it seem like i would have to tough it out.
Anyone else being told this?
