My LO doesn’t speak any words yet..?

He babbles and screams and talks but not exactly talk and using words in the right terms..
He can say “Dada, Baby, Bubbles, but doesn’t use it in the right terms? He only says it when he wants to as well..
Is my little one just slow? Should I be worried? I know all babies and toddlers learn on their own. But I just wanted to know if it’s just me? I’m not in a rush for him to learn just curious.

I know how worrisome it can be as my LO who is 2 on July 5th doesn’t say any words. He’s just now starting to say yes but it’s very inconsistent. He was evaluated by a speech therapist the other day and is not up to speed where he should be. They are recommending he do some speech therapy for 2 days a week. I would mention it to his pediatrician at his 2 year old check up and see if they can refer you?

My son was evaluated by a speech therapist a month ago because when he talks, it’s mostly jibberish. He can say a decent amount of words, but he doesn’t really say them unless you show him a picture and ask what it is, or point to something and ask. The speech therapist said he was talking at a 15 month old level so he finally started speech therapy 2 weeks ago. He’s already started saying a lot more that we can actually understand. And he’ll pop up from hiding and say “boo! I see you” it’s the first real sentence he’s ever said. He never really said mama & dada often and now he points to me and says mama, and dada with my husband. The major thing that helps him keep wanting to say more & more words is just getting super excited when he gets it right. And repetition is another thing that has really helped a lot. The speech therapist recommended the first 100 words book so I bought the box set 😂 just keep repeating everything, he’ll start get more words down :)

Our girl is a bit behind as well but is good at signing. We have been watching "songs with littles" on YouTube and it really has helped. There are a lot of good videos if you search for speech therapy on there as well.

My girl is the same right now. I am trying to work with her as much as possible to help her communicate with any thing besides yelling...
