How do you break it off with someone?

A friend and I were discussing our lives before partners and kids. We knew each other back then and she was the type to be really nice but it always backfired and she would end up with people months longer than she should have. She made a joke that I'mbheartless because I prefer the opposite. Just like a band-aid for me... do it quickly and move on.

I think about how id want to be broken up with. Quick and simple. I wouldnt ghost i wouldnt do it on the phone. Id just tell them sorry but im just not feeling this anymore. There would be no hanging around with the person. Its cord cut end of story

I was always very clear that it wasn’t going anywhere and I was done and then moved on.  I would still talk to some as friends for a while if it worked out that way, but if they were needy or pushy to continue something, I blocked/ghosted

I’ve never been able to break up with my boyfriend. Started dating at 13 years old and I have never broken up with him. Now, 8 years later we are married hahaha

Those were never hard for me. because by the time I know we were breaking up I already mentally and physically checked out. I take them out for coffee get simple drink while there I'd  talk about how you know the relationship was awesome but I think we're growing apart it's best we go our separate ways . Like it did Sting but the same time I felt so much better not doing over text message and just doing it face-to-face cuz if you do it over a text message you're wimp.
