Am I a germafob or am I right?

Ok so I have a four month old baby and a chihuahua who ofc wants to join in on everything. But since we got the baby he’s almost driving me insane.... whenever he can he steals the baby’s toys or sits in his baby nest, lays on his plaids and he tries to lick the baby all the time... I ALWAYS have to have an eye on that dog and everything that belongs to the baby all the time and he doesn’t seem to learn. 😐 He also steal the babies clothes and pacifiers.

I’m at the point where I’m almost starting to dislike my dog and wanting to put him up for adoption. But idk, I guess I’m just exhausted, overwhelmed and being annoyed that having this dog being just an extra burden that I don’t need. I’m always imagining all the germs the dog have in his saliva(when he puts the babies things in his mouth or manage to lick the baby) and the bacteria from his feces(when he sits on the babies thing)... or from his urine when he lies on the babies things. I’m so tired of washing everything all the time, even newly washed things. 😡

Can someone tell me how to think about this? 😔 I just want to keep my baby safe. I’m jealous of the people with no pets that don’t have to put up with this. At the same time I used to love my dog before I had the baby, and I assume I still do... and I think it’s healthy for kids to grow up with animals. I just hear people say all the time “don’t let the dog do this, don’t let him do that bla bla bla” so at this point I’m almost paranoid.

I want to feel more at ease and relaxed about the whole situation, I wish I didn’t have to care and just live at ease with the dog and the baby. Am I normal or ... what?

Is it safe for the baby to put something in the mouth that the dog might have carried in his mouth. The dog seriously jump up in the bed side crib and steals teddies :|
