Kids far apart in age?

Question

My daughter will turn 12 years old the month before my twins are due. Talk about starting over! And my husbands son is already 18. 
My husband is 38 years old and I turned 30 last month. Are we nuts? We're so excited and have tried for so many years to have a child together. But we never thought it would take that long. I was hoping to be pregnant at 25. Now I'm officially 30. Huge difference from from bring pregnant in highschool with my first. 
All this to say, I'm kind of nervous. Do any of you know any pros and cons to this or tips on how to make this a smooth transition???

I just had my third 5 months ago. We have an 11 and 8 year old.
I personally love it. I don’t feel overwhelmed by “3 kids” because I feel like I have two kids and a baby hahah.
Having self sufficient children while caring for a newborn is amazing!

The only advice I have is don't forget that your daughter is still a child and still needs you. It's so easy when you get a little one to start expecting a lot more from the older child. Make it a priority to still have one on one time with her, to involve her and to listen to her everyday rambling even when you're sleep deprived. Make sure she knows she is as loved and as important as before you had the baby and that the baby isn't replacing her.

I didn’t personally. But one of my good friends she had her son who just turned one & her oldest is 11. She said she LOVES the gap because her oldest is self sufficient enough that it isn’t overwhelming & he always wants to be helpful.

I have an 9 yr old son, soon to be 10 and 7 wk old daughter and I love it!!! My son can take care of hisself for the most part and he’s extremely helpful. 
I was worried about starting completely over with breastfeeding, potty training, learning allergies and so on, but so far it’s been ok.
