Conceiving while breastfeeding (and no periods)

Looking for how people handled similar situations.

Hi I have a 16 month old son who I still nurse at nap/ bedtime and a couple times throughout the day, I also co-sleep (no comments pls) and an trying to move him to his crib before I go back to work next month. I still haven’t had my period and I know for a fact I am not ovulating as I have been using opks. I want another baby and I had hoped to have them close together, we’ve been “trying” (as much as you can without ovulating 😂) for about 9 months already. I know I may get my period when I go back to work next month, I may get my period back when my son sleeps in the crib the whole night, or I may not get it until I completely wean him, which I don’t want to have to do yet. Has anyone asked their doctors to prescribe something to force ovulation? I know such medications exist but has anyone asked for them simply bc their periods been gone too long and they’re tired of being “one of the lucky ones” for so long due to breastfeeding?
