What would you consider as drinking too much?

I have a bottle of wine every weekend, mostly Saturday nights because with two kids and all the stress during the week I just like to wind down with a bottle to get myself… is this considered as drinking too much? What would you say is drinking too much?

I would say that drinkig everyday or most days of the week at least a bit is drinking too much. That's coming from someone who doesnt drink at all though. 
Once a week though is just occasional drinking, unless you're blacking out drunk every single Saturday. Then that's binge drinking.

I would say it really depends how much you "need" this bottle of wine and how hard ot woukd be to go without it.
There are alcoholics who go a.month withoit a drink just to prove they don't have a problem... but they do, becase it is a very hard thing to do for a month and they can even feel proud of themselves afterwards (and reward themselves with a glass of wine)
And there are pwople who are drinking a  lot and quiye often and they are not alcoholics.
It's a question of how the drinking (or not drinking) influences your life. If it does (like you reschedule something just to be able to drink or are very annoyed just because your child wants something and you can't get to drinking yet)- you have a problem...

If you have a bottle of wine one night a week that is either binge drinking or heavy drinking. The difference is really in how fast you consume it. 
Thats even if you dont drink the rest of the week. This is the classification by the Department of Agriculture
