Being overprotective?

I’m a FTM and I live about 2 hours from my family and my in laws. I feel like my in laws never make the effort to text me about the baby and ask how she is doing. When we go to visit though they expect me to just leave her alone with them or let them take her wherever but I just can’t do that. I have given them chances to bond with her more but they say how they work or don’t want to make the drive down here. It’s pretty exhausting having to always go up there to visit traveling with a baby plus packing everything it’s just too much to do every month 😩 plus they didn’t treat me very nicely when I had my daughter but I try to put that all aside for my daughter but they seem to disappoint me each time. Am I wrong for feeling like this?
