TMI's questions need someone that has experience

Please guys help me understand my appointment is not until this thurs. But until then I'll get infos from here. So here's what happened I had a miscarriage on 11/11/2015. I was 17 weeks 2 days so basically 4 mos and a week. I lost a baby boy. I passed almost everything the placenta came out it was pretty big after I pass my baby. Lots of blood and clots. My OB said I didn't need get D/C since I was only 17 weeks she said only if I was around 20 weeks. Now it's almost going to be a month after my M/C and I still have some blood not a lot I use panty liner and not even half get filled but my concern is that you can really smell the blood very fresh smell. I don't feel sick or anything I don't have any fever. My OB also gave me something to bring home after my M/C it's antibiotic and I finished all of it so I don't think I should have any infections or anything. My concern is how long will I have this bleeding and why does it smell? Sigh..... Please and thank you for those who are willing to give advice and comments
