Allergic to COFFEE?!

Okay so. I am not much of a coffee drinker. I don't even own a coffee pot at my house. But every now and then I get an urge for a nice warm cup. There's a couple of things that happen when I do drink it though. 
1) I get so hyper and shakey that I can hardly sit still. My hands shake and my legs shake and my stomach does flips.
2) I get a horrible stomach ache and bad things happen on the toilet (if you catch my drift) . 
So, I decided to try decaf... thinking that maybe it was the caffeine that was wreaking havoc on my body. 
But low and behold, with only 2 sips I was right in the bathroom again. 
I have never heard of someone being allergic to the actual coffee itself. But that's certainly what this feels like. What do you guys think?

Yes i am allergic to caffiene and chocolate which includes anything that contains caffiene and cocoa!

I met someone who is allergic to caffeine. But for myself, I had to stop drinking coffee over a year ago because I forms myself getting seriously nauseous and/or throwing up every morning. After a process of elimination, it turned out to be the coffee. I switched to tea,  and no problems ever since.

Decaf coffee still has some caffeine in it. I would stay away from coffee and caffenated teas.

Coffee is a diuretic pure and simple. That's why you get that way after drinking it. It's fairly normal to feel that way after drinking it, but since you don't drink it often it will affect you differently than someone who doesn't. Do you drink much caffeine on a daily basis?

I have irritable bowel. Caffeine is a no go (or rather a go too much) for me.
Do you have the same reaction to sodas with caffeine? If yes, then it's a caffeine problem. If no, then it's a coffee problem.

You're not allergic. The shakiness is common in people who don't drink coffee. And coffee promotes bowel movements.

Definitely not allergic :) the shakes is the caffeine affecting you and the tummy trouble is just an unfortunate side effect some people get from the caffeine also :) I get it now that I cut back due to pregnancy :)

I LOVE coffee....I have at least 2 cups every morning...the immediate toilet response is completeley normal. Coffee is like green tea, it boosts your metabolism and helps your digestive system stay normal...you get the jitters because it's alot of caffeine to take in at once when you aren't used to it...once you get used to it, those are just occasional side affects...until then, you just have to pay the price for a nice warm cup of coffee lol
