Anyone with experience with IUGR/small for gestational age diagnosis?

Question

Any mamas willing to share their experience with IUGR/small for gestational age and their own and their baby’s outcomes? We have a follow up ultrasound in three weeks that will determine if we go weekly and I am a ball of anxiety about what it means for my sweet baby. Still ruling out thyroid issues as root cause, but all other tests/causes ruled out, so only explanation offered was placenta not perfusing well enough.

My son was iugr. It’s a whole long story. He was born the right length but had zero fat. He came home at 4lbs9oz. He didn’t have the energy to cry or keep himself warm  and had a weaker immune system, so I just held him skin to skin and breastfed him around the clock. And nobody was allowed to hold him for a long while. He was in hospital for a week and needed antibiotics which caused him to have severe allergies. But he is now a smart and healthy 10 year old. And his allergies seem to be getting less severe as well which is a game changer for us all!

My son was iugr because his placenta and cord were not functioning properly.  He was born at 33w when my placenta gave up completely and abrupted.  He was tiny but did really well!

He’ll be 2 in a few weeks and is taller than average despite being iugr and premature

Yes- with my son. Around 26 weeks my belly measured small and from then on I had biweekly ultrasounds. At one point they said there wasn’t enough amniotic fluid but drinking lots of water fixed that. They decided to induce at full term 39 weeks. They thought he would be under 5lbs at full term but he ended up being almost 6. He is now a healthy 3 year old and is still small at 28 lbs.
