How do you cancel Airbnb with full refund ?

Has anyone had to cancel a AIRBNB booking after the cancellation date and was able to do so with full refund? If so, how did you do it? My friend booked a Airbnb in Lake Tahoe and the cancellation date for full refund was 8/5, which is before all the fire in California. Now she wants to cancel because of the fire and many had to evacuate the area. Airbnb are not allowing her to cancel.

Unless they announce that they are giving refunds due to natural disaster, you won't get a full refund.

I know the general airbnb policy is you can only get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hrs and 50% after that, then closer to the date no refund. But if the area is hazardous, that may be different, she should read the fine print on their refund policy or call them
