Reading to toddler

Does everyone’s toddler let you read to them? My 3yo used to absolutely love it when I read to him, but he’s been weird about it the past year. When I try to read a book he says “no momma shhhh” then he takes the book from me and pretends to read it by himself, or he points out the different colors, animals, etc in the pictures. I want him to enjoy listening to books again. Any advice?
