Can Breastfeeding delay your period?

i had my daughter on July 22nd i have not had any type of period kind of concerns me a little because my partner and i have been fornicating without any protection and also because i breastfeed my first child for 3 months i believe and my periods where regular 🤔?

Yes it can delay your period but you could also be pregnant if you've been having sex without protection. Plenty of women have gotten pregnant while breast feeding. Breast feeding is not birth control and shouldn't be used as such

It can yes, everyone is different, my first period came 8 weeks pp but my friend not for 10 months. The problem is your first ovulation will happen before your first period, so if youre having unprotected sex, you can certainly get pregnant, and you may be pregnant already...best to test just in case

Breast feeding can delay your period for 6 months to a year or even a couple months … it’s normal. But me on the other hand you do have moms who’s period comes back like a month after having baby even exclusively breast feeding & then boom fertile as hell.. 😭 you have a hormone called prolactin once that starts leaving your period will come back.

I didn’t get a period until 6 months postpartum and then again at 10 months. After 10 months it started to come regularly again. Breastfeeding usually suppresses ovulation. But I’d test just to rule out pregnancy.

I didnt get a period until baby off the breast for a month but echo what others have said it's not a reliable form of BC
