Child support... confusion
Okay so, my child’s father just got a really good job and hasn’t payed me hardly any child support in months, he is supposed to pay me $350 a month, which he hasn’t... I didn’t mind because he wasn’t getting payed much and I didn’t want to drill him about it, but he’s finally working in the mines and is getting around $4000-$5000 for a fortnight worth of work. Anyway, he came home to see his kid all is fair and well, I ask him if he’s going to pay the child support and he says “I’ll give you $500 next week, i owe you” great, anyway, today he took our son out and bought clothes, vitamins etc for him I was really happy about that... he got home and says “so that came out of your child support...” I was like... what did? He says “the clothes and stuff I bought for him, I’m putting it down as child support...”
So here I am confused... is he allowed to spend the child support money he owes me himself for our kid??? Isn’t what he spent today what He spent on our child because he wanted to?
Isn’t he supposed to pay me the child support into my account directly??
Like, what If I MYSELF want to go out and buy my kids shit with the child support money??? How does this work?
EDIT: I called him out on it and said that he needs to actually pay me the amount every month otherwise I’m going to just ask to get the money deducted from his account, he’s now saying that me asking for that is abuse? 😂 he then came over to my house screamed and yelled in my face in front of my son calling me a “cunt”, “ungrateful” “bitch”
etc etc, bad mouth me to my son right in front of me, then put a hole in my kitchen wall, I ended up pushing him after telling him to get out of my face and leave my house about 100 times, he did NOT leave and proceeded to scream in my face so that’s why I pushed him and it still took him ages to leave?! I told him he’s not stepping foot in my house again, and he won’t be seeing his son if he continues to treat me like that... he has to pay for the wall he put the hole in and I’m going to ring up child support tomorrow and get them to automatically deduct payments from him pay. I’m over it.
